The Drama curriculum is designed for students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree with a major in theater or a pre-professional degree in law. The degree plan provides a Core Curriculum that will transfer to any state supported college or university in Texas. It includes the general education requirements for almost any baccalaureate degree. The electives beyond the Core Curriculum allow students to explore various aspects of the performing arts.

An Associate's degree in Drama from Lamar State College Port Arthur will provide you with a solid foundation for your career in the industry of your choice.Potential Career opportunities include but are not limited to Actor, Arts Administrator, Make-Up Artist, Special Effects Artist, Costume Designer, Media Producer, Sound Technician, Theatre Director, Choreographer, and Playwright.

Lamar University

  • A student completing the LSCPA curriculum is considered Core Complete.
  • No more than 60-66 semester credit hours (SCH) fromLSCPA will be applied to a Bachelor degree at Lamar University.
  • An additional 60 SCH or more must be completed to satisfy the bachelor degree requirements.
  • Students may pursue a Bachelor of Communications or a Bachelor of Theater and Dance with an emphasis in Acting, Dance, or Design/Technical Theatre.
