Storm surge warning information

Due to the danger of storm surge resulting from Hurricane Beryl, the Port Arthur campus of Lamar State College Port Arthur will close on Monday, July 8, 2024. The closure also affects the CDL Training & Testing Center located near Nederland.

The National Weather Service issued a STORM SURGE WARNING Sunday, July 7, for the region, prompting the closure of the Port Arthur campus and CDL Center.

The campus is expected to resume regular operations on Tuesday, July 8.

Any additional information from the College will come via campus email and text messaging, social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn), and news distributed through the local media outlets.
