Amanda LaVergne, a Port Neches resident who has found success on stage as an actress, singer and dancer on Broadway, will offer an Audition Workshop on June 16 starting at 11 a.m. at the Lamar State College-Port Arthur Theater.

LaVergne, a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, splits her time living in New York City and Groves when she’s not traveling with one show or another around the country. During a visit to LSC-PA last October, LaVergne gave an insider’s look at the business of entertainment. This past Christmas season, she performed in her fifth season of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular tour, accompanying the world-famous Rockettes as a singer at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

A $20 fee for the workshop will be donated to charity. Those participating should bring a headshot and resume’ if available. Attendees should also prepare a song or two 32-bar sections of songs and a monologue. An accompanist will be available for the audition.
